Taper time?

I’m a slacker this morning. I was going to wake up at my usual 5:30 to do an easy four miles. But then I was still at my back to work celebratory happy hour at 8:15 (my bed time – yes, I’m lame), didn’t get home until after 9:00, and wasn’t in bed until 10:00. I set an alarm for 7:00, assuming I would actually wake up at 6:00 but I slept right through. Oh well, I should be tapering for my race in ten days so I’ll just consider a day off as part of my taper. Right? I’m going to have to work on convincing myself of this.
