Saturday ended up being a long day in bed (but no nap!). Luckily Sizzln’ Saturday spiced things up. I made Sweet Potato Black Bean burgers and they were super tastey. Except that I didn’t measure the spices so they weren’t actually spicy. I’ll have to do better next time. But they were delicious enough that I didn’t take a photo.

I started Sunday with my chocolate croissant (as usual) and then went to the pool. After my swim I decided to get in the hot tub. I’ve got minor plantar fasciitis right now and the doctor told me a heating pad and stretching would be good so I thought, how about stretching in a hot tub? Guess what? It was magical.

I really like being in the pool and I want to go weekly. It’s just so hard to fit in a weekly swim and a weekly ride and four runs a week. So, yesterday I did both! I met some running friends for a leisurely bike ride through the park up to my pace for a BBQ. It was so much fun I forgot to take pictures! Luckily Jen didn’t. Here’s some of the food:

The bike ride was nice and leisurely. Jen and I rode down pretty quickly — averaging about 18 miles per hour and then it was more for fun and conversation on the way back. However, my Garmin thinks I’m close to dead. Heart rate around 30 for awhile? Mmmm…I mean, my resting heard rate is probably low. But not that low. And I wasn’t resting!
