Things I will miss about FUNemployment
I’m very actively on the job hunt right now. It’s a tiring process: find an awesome job, write a cover letter, tweak the resume, imagine myself working there, think through my commute (I wonder if there’s a shower? can I run during the day? can I bike there?), picture myself as the head of the organization in about a decade, then wait. And wait. And wait.
Anyway, I’m still hopeful. Soon, I will be employed. But I’m going to miss things about my few months of funemployment and breakfast currently tops that list. I’ve grown accustomed to awesome breakfasts. Egg sandwiches, arepas, hashed browns, and this morning’s breakfast burrito. Mmmm…this just won’t be possible when I have a job unless I wake up way too early (and then I’ll have to go to bed even earlier than I already do).
Other things I will miss: being able to run/swim/bike/go to the gym whenever I want, having the opportunity to go to the grocery store at off-peak times, not setting an alarm, weekends (at least until I’m done with school).
Things I look forward to: a new couch (did you know it’s possible to wear out a couch? apparently I spend too much time sitting…), having a schedule, not procrastinating my runs. Speaking of, I really need to get out and run soon.
