Goal Races for 2014

I got a little extra excited about racing the last few months and have lots of races I want to do this year! I’m currently registered for a marathon, 10 miler, half marathon and an olympic distance triathlon but will probably register for more of each soon! Now that I’ve been training for marathons for more than a year, half marathons no longer seem like a big deal since I do runs longer than that quite regularly. I’m really excited to do two or three triathlons this year because I would like to do a half ironman next year!

IMG_1043So, here are the races I’m hoping to do in 2014:
Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach on March 16
Cherry Blossom Ten Mile on April 6
Nike Women’s Half Marathon in Washington, DC on April 27
Historic Half Marathon in Fredricksburg, VA on May 18
Rev3 Williamsburg Olympic Triathlon in VA on June 15
Rev3 Morgantown Olympic Triathlon in WV on August 3
Philly Marathon on November 16

So that’s seven races in eight months. That might be too much. I’ve only registered for four of them and will likely hold off a bit before registering for the others. I’m a little nervous about the Cherry Blossom 10 because it’s just three weeks after the marathon, but I think it will be okay. Plus, Jessica will (hopefully) be here so it will be awesome. The Morgantown Tri is 15 weeks before the Philadelphia Marathon so I think I can probably do it but I’ll probably wait until I’ve done a couple races before deciding if I really want to be training non-stop the whole year…and if I think my body can handle that level of training for so long.
