Cold runs and egg sandwiches
This morning’s “long” run was a bit different than usual. Because of ice and snow, the route was changed and we ran for time instead of distance. I think we ended up doing about 6.5 miles, so it really wasn’t a long run but we did it quite a bit faster than my usual long run pace so I think that makes up for it. Plus, it’s supposed to be a cut-back week.
When I got out of bed this morning, it was 12 degrees! I think we’re actually having winter in DC! In Iowa, I didn’t run outside if it was less than 15 degrees, I thought it was too hard to breathe. So, wow! I wore two pair of tights, a tank top, long sleeve, wool sweater and an outer tech sweatshirt.
So I came home and made myself a breakfast sandwich. My third or fourth of the week because I bought very few groceries this week, but they did come from a very strange supermarket called Snider’s Super Foods. In Maryland, to my knowledge, alcohol is not sold in grocery stores but Snider’s had beer and wine! As does the Latin American supermarket. What? I don’t understand! They also have cake decorating supplies right next to the tampons at an odd triangular corner near the ice cream.
Anyway, Snider’s has lots of weird stuff that is too processed, packaged, and wrapped in plastic for my taste so I didn’t get much. And have spent the week eating egg sandwiches. This morning’s combo was eggs, bacon, Sophie’s Select Cheddar, avocado, and cream cheese on toast. So tasty! But, the best sandwich of the week has been the egg, bacon, cheddar, avocado-sriracha-mayo, and lettuce on toast. Maybe I’ll go grocery shopping for more food this week and will eat something other than breakfast sandwiches. Maybe.
